#BlackLivesMatter

Hello all,

James here. Due to current events following the horrific murder of #GeorgeFloyd our “Let's Talk Pride” podcast will be changing format this year to honour the voices of those affected by the injustices that still prevail in these divisive times.‬

It is hugely important that as white creatives, that we honour the voices who are still too often overlooked or abused within not only the performance industry, but the world at large.

As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I can not stand by and not take action. It was the black men and woman of our community who stood up without hesitation to fight for our rights and risked their lives in the Stonewall riots all those years ago. This ensured equality was what we strived for and helped queer culture tenfold. Now the time has come for us to all do the same in return! So, I would like to offer and open invitation to anyone who would like to record and share a personal message, thought, piece of spoken word, song anything you feel needs to be heard at this key moment in history. This will then be curated into a special piece that will be released at the end of this month. Now is the time for action, now is not the time to merely stay quiet, now is the time to tackle inequality, to tackle the racist enabling culture of our own silence. Equality isnt for the few it’s a basic right for everyone regardless of skin colour or sexuality. Everyone on the BAMALAM team is behind you! #BlackLivesMatter! Please submit your work to: bamalamproductions@gmail.com with the subject: LET’S TALK PRIDE 2020. If you have any questions do not hesitate to get in touch.
